The Cry for Equality and the formation of Las Adelitas de Aztlan

When the Brown Berets organization failed to acknowledge and respect the role that Chicanas played in the organizations. Arellanes and Chicanas left the Brown Berets organization and formed a separate organization, Las Adelitas de Aztlan. They created this new group with the hopes of having a better opportunity to serve their community and fight for their rights free from a patriarchal system.
